About Whitehall
Whitehall is a Jefferson Valley town that grew around a railroad depot in 1889, between the Tobacco Root and Highland ranges. The Jefferson Valley Museum, housed in a restored 1914 red barn, gives the place a spot to sort through the valley's story, from Native history and homesteading to the railroads that changed the region. Lewis and Clark Caverns are part of the nearby landscape, while Frontier Days brings a summer rodeo-and-parade streak to town. Whitehall is southwest Montana in a valley-and-railroad shape.
