Whitehorn Cove, OK

Whitehorn Cove is an unincorporated Wagoner County community and census-designated place on the west shore of Fort Gibson Lake. Its map is mostly water and access roads: the cove lies along North Bay, with Rocky Point to the north and Toppers and Taylor Ferry to the south. Whitehorn Cove Marina gives the place its clearest landmark, offering boat ramps, a landing strip, camping, and a floating restaurant on the reservoir. Fort Gibson Lake itself was completed in 1953 as a Corps of Engineers flood-control project. Whitehorn Cove is a lakeside Oklahoma place whose name makes sense from the shoreline, not from a municipal downtown.
