Whitestown, IN

Whitestown is a Boone County town northwest of Indianapolis, laid out in 1851 when the railroad reached the area. That rail corridor later became part of the Heritage Trail, giving the town a recreation link to its transportation past. Public school students are split among systems depending on township, which reflects Whitestown's rapid growth across formerly rural land. Today it is one of the Indianapolis region's fast-expanding suburbs, with warehouses, subdivisions, parks, and old railroad-town roots all sharing space.
