Wide Ruins, AZ

Wide Ruins is a chapter of the Navajo Nation and a census-designated place in Apache County, Arizona, with a population of 176 at the 2010 census. The site contains a large pueblo ruin believed to have been established around 1264–1285, and a trading post was later established within the remaining ruin walls, operated by Bill and Sallie Wagner Lippincott from 1938 to 1949. The Wide Ruin Community School, affiliated with the Bureau of Indian Education, serves K-6 students, with secondary students served by the Sanders Unified School District.
