Williamsport, OH

Williamsport is a Pickaway County village on Deer Creek, with 970 residents in the 2020 census. Westfall Local Schools are based here, and the village’s two parks provide playgrounds, ball fields, shelter houses, and a gym. The annual Deercreek Dam Days festival, held in May, is the big date on the calendar, built around the reservoir, dam, and rural life nearby. Larger regional hubs handle more of the shopping, medical, and employment trips, but Williamsport remains the school-and-event center for its immediate countryside.

The village grew along Deer Creek before Ohio became a state, with lots surveyed in 1818 and the name honoring postmaster John Williams. That origin still fits the place: water, farm roads, school buses, and a compact village core are the things that tie the area together. Deercreek Dam Days turns that setting into a public gathering each spring, while the parks and gym carry the ordinary work of practices, games, and community events through the rest of the year.
