About Winfall
Winfall is a Perquimans County town on the Perquimans River, incorporated in 1887 and shaped by the Norfolk and Southern Railroad’s arrival in 1881. The Winfall Historic District follows the town’s older Main Street and Wiggins Road pattern, with houses and buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The river and railroad turned what had been a crossroads into a commercial and residential center tied to the county’s agricultural economy. Winfall is an eastern North Carolina town whose historic map still reads as river landing, rail line, and old village street.
