Winslow West, AZ

To get Winslow West straight, start with the land. It is a census-designated place spread across Navajo and Coconino counties just west of Winslow, and all of the community's land is off-reservation trust land belonging to the Hopi Tribe. The Hopi reservation spans both counties and is organized around 12 villages on three mesas, so Winslow West sits inside a wider Hopi governmental and cultural geography even though it is outside the reservation core.
