About Wintersburg

Wintersburg is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Maricopa County, Arizona, situated forty-eight miles west of Phoenix along Salome Highway and four miles south of Interstate 10 Exit 98. With a population of 51 at the 2020 census, the small community is most notable as the location of the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, the largest nuclear power plant in the United States. Local students are served by the Saddle Mountain Unified School District.
