Wolfhurst, OH

Wolfhurst is a Belmont County census-designated place in the valley of Wheeling Creek, with U.S. Route 40 passing through the center toward downtown Wheeling, West Virginia, about four miles east. The 2020 census counted 1,119 residents. The National Road and the creek set the basic shape: a narrow settlement in an eastern Ohio valley with a major cross-state city close by. Lansing borders Wolfhurst to the northwest, and Brookside is about a mile east.

Local services are organized across community lines. The Wolfhurst Central Volunteer Fire Department provides fire and EMS coverage for Wolfhurst, Lansing, Blaine, and Boydsville, giving the area a shared emergency-service base.
