About Woodland

Woodland is a Randolph County town on Alabama Route 48, nine miles northeast of Wedowee and about ten miles southwest of the Georgia line. It became an incorporated town in the 1960s and is described in county planning material as Randolph County's youngest town. Route 48 gives the place a clear orientation: county seat behind it, state line ahead, with the Tallapoosa country around both. Woodland's town hall, community and senior center, and fire department are the civic pieces visible on the local map. It is a small Alabama town defined by one state route and its position in the county's northeastern corner.
