Woodson, IL

Woodson is a Morgan County village with 498 people at the 2020 census, just south of Jacksonville and part of its micropolitan area. It was platted on May 2, 1859, and incorporated in 1894. Lake Jacksonville lies to the north; U.S. 36 and Interstate 72 run nearby, and Illinois Route 267 goes north seven miles to Jacksonville and south 20 miles to Greenfield. Spoon Creek follows the village's northern edge toward Sandy Creek and the Illinois River. The layout puts a farm-rooted village between a reservoir, a major highway corridor, and the county-seat town.
