Wrenshall, MN

Wrenshall is a Carlton County city of 428 residents in the 2020 census, nine miles southeast of Cloquet and 25 miles southwest of Duluth. It began as a brickyard community, and its location just south of Jay Cooke State Park places the city at the edge of the St. Louis River valley and Northwoods recreation country. Carlton County Roads 1, 4, and 18 carry most local trips, with State Highways 45 and 210 four miles north at Carlton.

Wrenshall School District gives the city a civic center, and the school's wren mascot turns the place name into a piece of local shorthand. Jay Cooke State Park provides the nearby landscape, while Cloquet and Duluth are the larger nearby cities named in its geographic network.
