Wurtland, KY

Wurtland is a quiet river town tucked along the south bank of the Ohio River in northeastern Kentucky. With fewer than a thousand residents, it offers a peaceful, close-knit feel while keeping everyday conveniences within easy reach across the Huntington-Ashland area. The town sits right along U.S. Route 23 between Worthington and Raceland, making travel up and down the river corridor simple. The Industrial Parkway also starts here, giving residents a direct route south to Interstate 64 and regional job hubs like EastPark.

The community's roots trace back to the early 19th-century iron boom, when pioneer ironworks and steam-powered furnaces sprang up along the riverbanks. The town eventually took its name from local furnace operators George and Samuel Wurts in the 1870s. Today, Wurtland is a relaxed residential community framed by wooded hills and the water, offering quiet neighborhoods alongside an easy commute to neighboring cities.
