Wyoming, NY

Wyoming is a village in Wyoming County, New York, United States. The 2020 census counted 377 residents. The Village of Wyoming lies within Middlebury by the eastern town line. Wyoming is located on New York State Route 19. The through line in Wyoming is the way its history and present-day settings remain visible on the same map. Wyoming makes the most sense through those concrete details, with its history still visible in the settings people use today. The Village of Newell's Settlement was founded in 1809 by Silas Newell. Wyoming was later renamed to Wyoming in 1829, to be incorporated in 1875. Oatka Creek flows northward past the east side of the village.
