About Yarmouth

Yarmouth is a coastal Cumberland County community north of Portland, with roots reaching back to early North Yarmouth settlement in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Native people lived in the area long before Europeans arrived, and the town's history still feels layered into its village center and waterfront setting. Since 1965, the Yarmouth Clam Festival has given the town a signature summer event. Yarmouth feels polished, maritime, and very Maine: old houses, schools, boats nearby, and Portland close but not overwhelming.
