About Anamosa

Anamosa is a city and the county seat of Jones County, Iowa, situated along the Wapsipinicon River. Originally founded in 1838 as Buffalo Forks and home to the massive Anamosa State Penitentiary and the National Motorcycle Museum, the historic community of approximately 5,629 is served by the Anamosa Community School District for public education.
