About Anchorage

Anchorage is a scenic, tree-lined community in eastern Jefferson County, about fifteen miles east of downtown Louisville. Home to roughly 2,500 residents, it offers the quiet feel of a country village with grand historic homes, shaded lanes, and expansive green yards. The town has preserved much of its nineteenth-century architecture and character, giving neighborhoods a relaxed, private atmosphere surrounded by mature trees.

Anchorage Presbyterian Manse

A major draw for families is Anchorage Public School, a top-rated independent district serving kindergarten through eighth grade right in the middle of town. Residents also enjoy plenty of green space, with easy walks along the Anchorage Trail and weekend recreation at neighboring E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. Interstate 265 sits just outside town, making trips into Louisville or nearby shopping centers quick and convenient.
