Arivaca is an unincorporated community in Pima County, Arizona, situated eleven miles north of the Mexican border. Founded in 1878, the historic settlement lies near the Las Guijas Mountains, surrounded by an old mining district featuring over one hundred historic mines. Today, Arivaca has a population of under three hundred residents, is served by the Sahuarita Unified School District, and promotes local tourism through the Arivaca Alive community group.
