Rio Rico is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Santa Cruz County, north of Nogales near the meeting of Sonoita Creek and the Santa Cruz River. The current CDP combined several former Rio Rico areas into one place, which fits the way the community feels: spread across desert hills and valleys rather than gathered around a single traditional downtown.
