Ash Fork, AZ

Ash Fork got its start as a late-1800s railroad siding before finding a second act as a classic stop on historic Route 66. It is widely known as the Flagstone Capital of the World, named for the local quarries that ship distinctive northern Arizona stone all across the country. Set against a backdrop of open high-desert plains and juniper hills, the town retains a quiet, old-school roadside feel.
