Babb, MT

Babb is a tiny ranching community on the Blackfeet Reservation in northwestern Montana, home to around 130 year-round residents. Set along U.S. Route 89 in the St. Mary River valley, it sits right where the open high plains meet Glacier National Park. The road into the Many Glacier valley begins right in town, putting Babb in a handy spot for local ranchers, park visitors, and travelers heading north toward the Canadian border.

Daily life revolves around a small cluster of essentials: the local school, post office, volunteer fire department, and a few roadside diners and cabins. Duck Lake sits just east of town for year-round trout fishing, and the warmer months bring a lively surge of hikers, campers, and seasonal workers. It is a quiet, rugged corner of the state with sweeping Rocky Mountain views and plenty of open space.
