Beaver Creek, MT

Beaver Creek is a Hill County census-designated place in eastern Montana, where the 2020 census counted 311 residents. U.S. Route 2 crosses the northern part of the CDP, running five miles east to Havre, the county seat, and 97 miles west to Shelby. Herron borders Beaver Creek to the east, placing the settlement in a broad prairie corridor between smaller rural communities and Havre’s services.

The surrounding country is open, agricultural, and shaped by the long highway line. Hill County’s Beaver Creek Park carries the name into the wider county, while Havre provides the courthouse, schools, and shopping that sit five miles down the road. Beaver Creek’s map is less about a downtown grid than a highway, a prairie edge, and short trips between rural homes and the county seat. Those trips have always mattered: the railroad and highway made Havre the natural market and service town, while the prairie around Beaver Creek kept ranches and farmsteads spread across long distances. The place has a small footprint, but its position makes the US 2 corridor the main local reference.
