About Big Sky

Big Sky is an unincorporated resort community and census-designated place straddling Gallatin and Madison counties in southwestern Montana. set within the Madison Range near the northwest corner of Yellowstone National Park, the tourism-based community of approximately 2,400 sits at the base of Lone Mountain. Zoned within the Big Sky and Ennis school districts, the area is a world-class destination for skiing, hiking, and fly-fishing on the Gallatin River.
