About Bulverde

Bulverde is a city in western Comal County, Texas, situated twenty-six miles north of downtown San Antonio along U.S. Route 281. Originally established in the nineteenth century as Piepers Settlement, the community of approximately 6,500 is historically noted for its German immigrant founders and ancient Native American archaeological artifacts. Zoned within the Comal Independent School District, local students attend the highly regarded Smithson Valley High School.
