Carleton is a village in Monroe County, Michigan, situated within the western section of Ash Township. First platted in 1872 by Daniel Matthews and establishing its post office in 1874, the residential and agricultural community of approximately 2,595 is served by the Airport Community Schools district for public K-12 education locally today.
