Chappaqua, NY

Chappaqua is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of New Castle, Westchester County, New York, situated approximately thirty miles north of New York City. Founded by Quakers in the 1730s, the community is served by the Chappaqua station on the Metro-North Harlem Line and is historically associated with Horace Greeley, editor of the New-York Tribune and a U.S. congressman. The Old Chappaqua Historic District preserves the hamlet's early character, and public education is administered by the Chappaqua Central School District.
