Dell, MT

Dell is a Beaverhead County CDP in the Red Rock River valley, a settlement shaped by stage travel, ranching, and the Utah and Northern Railway. The railroad reached the area in 1881, and Dell developed as a station with a depot, water tank, stockyards, and loading facilities for sheep and cattle. A local school opened in 1912 and later consolidated with Lima, while the former rail corridor remains part of the valley's history. Dell's name describes the small mountain-surrounded valley that frames the community.
