Tucked away in Denton County, DISH is a quiet rural community with one of the quirkiest backstories in Texas. Originally founded as Clark, the town voted in 2005 to officially change its name to DISH (yes, in all caps) after Dish Network offered every resident ten years of free satellite TV and DVR boxes. Today, it is a peaceful spot where neighbors enjoy plenty of open acreage and send their kids to nearby Ponder ISD schools.
