Dover, ID

Sitting along the northern shore of the Pend Oreille River, Dover is a small, scenic community located just three miles west of Sandpoint. With around 750 residents, it offers a peaceful waterfront setting with mountain views and an easygoing pace. Much of the town's recreation revolves around the river and Dover Bay, an established neighborhood that features miles of walking trails, a full-service marina, swimming areas, and public parks.

While Dover is an independent city with its own local administration, daily life connects closely with neighboring Sandpoint. Families send their children to schools in the Lake Pend Oreille School District, with regular bus routes serving the area. Everyday errands, grocery shopping, dining, and medical care are only a five-minute drive away, or a quick trip along the paved multi-use trail connecting the two towns. It is a great fit for people looking for a relaxed neighborhood on the water without giving up quick access to town conveniences.
