East Thermopolis, WY

East Thermopolis sits right across the river from Thermopolis, just outside the scenic mouth of Wind River Canyon. It developed on the east bank of the Bighorn River and still maintains its own small-town identity today. Just south of town lies the Wedding of the Waters, the well-known spot where the Wind River officially changes its name to the Bighorn. The setting is wide-open and rugged, with canyon walls rising in the background and the river flowing right past the neighborhood.

Daily life here blends seamlessly with Thermopolis, connected by a quick drive across the bridge on US 20. East Thermopolis residents share the county school district, healthcare facilities, grocery stores, and the area's famous state park hot springs. What you get on the east side is a peaceful, purely residential pocket with very little traffic, easy access to world-class trout fishing, and the rest of town just a couple of minutes down the road.
