About Eureka
Eureka sits in Lincoln County's Tobacco Valley, close to the Canadian border and along the Tobacco River. The 2020 census counted 1,380 residents. The river is part of town life, not a distant landmark: Riverside Park provides access for swimming, floating, fishing, and kayaking, while Memorial Park hosts the summer farmers market. Main Street runs from local shops and restaurants to Montana Market and the Majestic Theater.
South of town, the Tobacco Valley Historical Village keeps older valley buildings and collections in view. At the fairgrounds, the calendar turns toward Bull Thing, the Lincoln County Fair, and rodeo events that bring the wider valley together through the seasons. Eureka also sits on the Pacific Northwest Trail, a long-distance route connecting the Continental Divide with the Pacific coast. The result is a town with three different rhythms close together: river access, a working main street, and big community dates that make the town feel larger when the valley comes in here.
