Fairplay is an incorporated statutory town and the county seat of Park County, Colorado, situated in the South Park basin at an elevation of 9,953 feet. Established during the 1859 Pike's Peak Gold Rush along the Middle Fork South Platte River, the historic high-country mining hub of approximately 1,067 is served by Park County School District RE-2 locally.
