About Forest Park
Forest Park is a city in Clayton County, Georgia, situated nine miles south of Atlanta within the Atlanta metropolitan area. Originally established in the mid-nineteenth century as a railroad wood stop nicknamed Stump Town, the community was formally chartered and incorporated in 1908. Zoned within the Clayton County Public Schools system, the city hosts local commercial developments, neighborhood parks, and the state-operated Atlanta State Farmers Market.
