Francis, UT

Tucked into the southern end of the Kamas Valley, Francis is a quiet, scenic town framed by the Wasatch and Uinta mountain ranges. Home to around 1,600 residents, it offers a peaceful rural setting with open pastures, big skies, and plenty of space to breathe. Founded in the 1860s as a farming community, the town has held onto its agricultural heritage and relaxed pace even as nearby mountain towns have boomed.

Families are served by the South Summit School District in neighboring Kamas, and Park City’s ski slopes, dining, and shopping are only about twenty minutes away. On weekends, locals head into the Uintas for hiking, fishing, and camping, spend summer afternoons on Jordanelle Reservoir, or gather every Labor Day weekend for the beloved Francis Frontier Days celebration. It is an appealing spot for anyone drawn to mountain views, horse properties, and a close-knit community.
