Fulton, MD

Fulton is a census-designated place in southern Howard County, near the Patuxent River. Indigenous peoples, likely Piscataway, used the land for hunting and farming long before modern suburban development. Today Fulton sits in one of Maryland's high-growth corridors between Columbia, Laurel, and the Washington suburbs. It is mostly residential and affluent, with newer neighborhoods, local shopping, schools, and rural remnants all close together. Fulton feels like Howard County's old countryside being steadily remade into polished suburbia.
