About Ganado
Ganado is a chapter of the Navajo Nation and a census-designated place in Apache County, Arizona, situated within the Fort Defiance Agency. The historic community is home to the Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site and is renowned for the Ganado Red Navajo weaving style. Additionally, a local community of silversmiths specializes in traditional Navajo jewelry. With a population of around eight hundred residents, Ganado was once home to the nursing school that became the College of Ganado.
