Geneseo, NY

Set in the scenic Genesee Valley about thirty minutes south of Rochester, Geneseo is a welcoming community full of historic character. The downtown area features beautiful nineteenth-century architecture, independent shops, and leafy residential streets that are easy to explore on foot. Commuting is straightforward too, with Interstate 390 close by for quick drives into the city or weekend trips across the Finger Lakes.

Much of the village’s energy comes from SUNY Geneseo, whose campus sits right along Main Street. Year-round locals and college students share a lively downtown scene with cozy cafes, neighborhood diners, and a popular seasonal farmers market. Surrounded by open farmland and with Letchworth State Park just a short drive down the road, Geneseo is a comfortable place to settle down if you enjoy a relaxed pace with a college-town feel.
