Greenvale, TN

Greenvale is a Wilson County unincorporated community in Tennessee, a place whose original public footprint was measured by a plat, post office, and school district. It was platted in 1871, and a Greenvale post office operated from 1870 until 1905. The older county history described Green Vale as a village of roughly 75 people in 1886, placing it in the county's Seventeenth Civil District. That was a small settlement where the village name, mail service, and school boundaries overlapped.

Greenvale School District #91 was created by a 1917 private act, with classes held at Greenvale School House and funding tied to the scholastic census. Today, Wilson County Schools lists Watertown Elementary, Watertown Middle, and Watertown High as the zoned schools for the community. The school name still survives in the county's record even though Greenvale's post office closed long ago.
