About Gypsum

Gypsum is a town in western Eagle County, set in the Eagle River valley west of the Vail area. The name comes from nearby gypsum deposits, and the town was incorporated in 1911, giving it a working-resource history beneath its present-day mountain-county growth. Eagle Valley High School serves the community, and the surrounding valley connects Gypsum to river access, public land, regional commuting, and the less resort-polished side of Eagle County.
