Henefer, UT

Henefer is a Summit County town on the Weber River, part of the Salt Lake City metro and one of the early settlements along the old Pioneer Trail. The 2020 census counted 838 residents. James and William Hennefer settled the community in 1859, and the town kept their surname in its own slightly altered spelling. North Summit School District serves local students, while the hillside letter H gives travelers a quick visual cue from the southwest. Henefer sits in the stretch between the Wasatch and Uinta country where the river and the road do most of the organizing.

Farming, winter cold, hot summers, and long drives toward Coalville or Salt Lake City all belong to the local rhythm.
