Higganum is a village and census-designated place in the town of Haddam, Middlesex County, Connecticut. Situated along the southwestern bank of the Connecticut River and historically serving as a key river port and shipbuilding center during the nineteenth century, the community of approximately 1,742 is served by Regional School District Seventeen locally.
