Lakeville, CT

Lakeville is a census-designated place within the town of Salisbury, close to the New York line in Litchfield County. The 2020 census counted 1,059 residents. Until 1846 it was called Furnace Village, a name tied to the early blast furnaces of Salisbury's iron industry. The Hotchkiss School arrived in 1891, and the Indian Mountain School sits nearby, so education is part of the local map alongside the old furnace story. US 44 runs through the area toward Canaan and Millerton. The lakes and hills give Lakeville its own corner of the Salisbury town map.
