About Lindisfarne

Lindisfarne occupies a long stretch of Lake County's Flathead Lake shoreline, on the south side of the Big Arm. The CDP had 320 residents in the 2020 Census and extends east from Big Arm past White Swan Bay, White Swan Point, and Indian Bay toward Matterhorn Point. Polson, the county seat, is about 10 miles south, giving the community a clear relationship to the lake and to the county's civic center.

Nearby Big Arm State Park brings a public beach, boat launch, and access toward Wild Horse Island into the surrounding landscape. The lake also connects Lindisfarne to a chain of west-shore communities reaching toward Polson, with bays and points shaping how the area is traveled and understood. For residents, the important landmarks are geographic as much as civic: the shoreline, the neighboring Big Arm community, the coves to the east, and the county seat down the lake. The county seat remains the nearest civic reference point. Lindisfarne is a place defined by that extended water edge.
