About Lindon

Lindon is a small Utah County city in the Provo-Orem metropolitan area, tucked between Orem and Pleasant Grove. It began as pioneer grazing land in 1861 and was once called String Town because homes were strung along the road between nearby settlements. The present name came from an old linden tree in town, and the city has leaned into a quieter image with the motto, "Lindon: a little bit of country." Local schools are part of the Alpine School District.
