Lyons, NJ

Lyons is a census-designated place in Somerset County, remembered in part for the David Lyon farm that once covered much of the area. Its most important modern institution is the Lyons VA Medical Center, whose historic campus is listed as the Lyons Veterans Administration Hospital Historic District. That gives Lyons a more specific identity than many small New Jersey places: part residential hamlet, part medical campus, and part local historic district within the broader Bernards Township area.
