About McAdoo

McAdoo is a Schuylkill County borough on the crest of Broad Mountain, high enough to sit between the Delaware and Susquehanna watersheds. Anthracite coal and the McAdoo Manufacturing Company's shirt factory once gave the town its working shape; today Silver Brook Meadow and the Hazleton Area school district are part of the local map. McAdoo is five miles south of Hazleton and seven miles north of Tamaqua, but the ridge is the better introduction. This is coal-country Pennsylvania in a mountain-divide shape.
