Medley, FL

Medley is a Miami-Dade town whose daytime population changes dramatically with the workday. In 2024-25, Medley listed about 1,100 residents and roughly 1,800 businesses; together, workers and visitors brought the typical weekday population above 60,000. Incorporated in 1949, Medley occupies eight square miles northwest of Miami, bordered by Hialeah, Hialeah Gardens, Doral, Miami Springs, and unincorporated county land. The Florida East Coast Railway and the Palmetto Metrorail station run through the middle of town, and major roads connect the industrial area with Miami International Airport and the region.

Warehouses, freight, building materials, food distribution, lumber, aviation, and cold storage are the visible working landscape. The town's business list includes Sysco's South Florida campus, FEC's freight facilities, U.S. Cold Storage, FedEx, AAR, Seaboard Marine, and construction suppliers such as Titan America and SuperMix. Medley maintains water and sewer, public works, parks, police, and stormwater departments for both residents and businesses. Its small residential population can obscure the scale of the place: Medley functions as a major employment and logistics district inside metropolitan Miami, with rail, highway, and airport links carrying more people and goods through town each day than the census count suggests.
