Minden is a census-designated place and the county seat of Douglas County, Nevada, situated in the Carson Valley adjacent to Gardnerville. Named after the German hometown of the founder's father, the community of approximately 3,707 is home to the Douglas campus of Western Nevada College and a massive Starbucks distribution center. The valley is also recognized as a premier location for glider flying.
