Morenci, AZ

Morenci is a true company town in the rugged hills of southeastern Arizona, built around one of North America's largest copper operations. Life here has revolved around mining since the late 1800s, and Freeport-McMoRan still manages both the massive open-pit mine and much of the town itself. The residential area sits just south of the mining pits, offering employee housing alongside neighborhood parks, a healthcare center, community stables, and local schools. Most residents work directly in the mine or support the people who do, creating a practical, work-focused community.
