New Tripoli, PA

New Tripoli is a Lehigh County census-designated place in Lynn Township, at the meeting of Madison Street and Pennsylvania Route 143 near Route 309. The 2020 census counted 840 residents. Northwestern Lehigh School District is based in the community, and the New Tripoli Fire Company provides volunteer emergency coverage for the village and neighboring roads. The surrounding country is a mix of farms, wooded ridges, church communities, and small township settlements on the northern edge of the Lehigh Valley.

The village began as Saegersville in 1812 and took the New Tripoli name in 1816, after the American naval victory at Tripoli. Route 143 still carries local traffic through the center, while Route 309 leads toward Allentown and the larger Lehigh Valley job, shopping, and medical network. School events, fire-company training, church life, and farm work fill out the local calendar. New Tripoli is an unincorporated Pennsylvania community with a school district and volunteer fire company doing much of the visible civic work, set among the older roads and rolling fields of Lynn Township.
